Responsible for performing Completion Engineering studies to ensure optimum reservoir face completions designs
Managing external studies to deliver optimal completion performance
Responsible for completion / testing engineering support for Ghana Deepwater operations team
Ensures EHS requirements are integral to all aspects of completion, testing and well intervention activities.
Contribute to delivering operational EHS performance.
Review and provide feedback on operational programmes which account for and dictate best EHS practise.
Ensures that all completion activities comply with company standards and governmental regulations.
Provides completions input to team and well engineering delivery objectives as necessary.
Provide input into the specification of completion, well testing and well intervention related equipment and services in accordance with company procedures.
Ensures that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future Tullow operations worldwide.
Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements.
Liaise with sub-surface personnel to ensure reservoir requirements are delivered.
Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal / external stakeholders and service companie
Ensures continuous improvement and Lessons Learnt are captured in the Completions and Subsea Manual.
Completion performance / efficiency improvement identifies performance improvement initiatives
Provide technical expertise in completion operations including the design, execution, and post job analysis as needed.
Liaise with all relevant stake holders across the functions to provide timely support to the operations team in Ghana.
Remains in touch with daily operations to ensure full understanding of issues, operational problems, FIRs, cost, etc.
Provides operational input to completion, testing and well intervention activities as required to the operations team.
Plans for future wells and ensures required materials and services are available in country and allocated as required.
Conduct specialist projects, particularly in relation to completion optimisation and / or reduction in well cost.
Develops a Completion and Subsea Design Report that details all completion designs and methodologies.
Provide Outline Completion Requirements’ document for each well in a timely manner (one month before start of completion).
Assists the completions operations team in conducting well hazard assessments and assist with the provision of the major technical input into any operations hazard assessments and HAZOPs.
Participates in well and operations hazard assessments and HAZOPs.
Participates in compiling well risk register and well barrier review.
Assist with any C&P requests and evaluations during the completion and testing program.
Review or initiates cost estimates for completion, testing and well intervention activities as required.
Initiates requisitions / sole source justification as required
A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team.
High proficiency with IT and industry software including
WellCat or other Tubing Movement Modelling
Prosper or other Nodal Analysis Software
Drill String Design with emphasis on Torque / Drag Modelling
Valid survival certificatioN
Minimum of 8 years experience as a completions engineer with operating companies.
Subsea completions experience within the last five years in water depths greater than 800 metres.
Knowledge and experience in design and running of SMART completions, well testing, and subsea tree / landing string systems.
Work experience in remote locations and knowledge of work environments in West Africa.
