    Basic Purpose :

    To perform network operations activities to ensure network availability and quality of service. Establishing potential failures and facilitating restoration of normal operational service with minimal business impact on the customer

    Job Magnitude : Latitude :

    Works under general supervision.Follows established procedures, work is reviewed for soundness of techncial judgement, overall adequacy and accuracy.

    Some latitude for independent judgment.

    Main Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Supervise all network elements (radio subsystem, network sub system and transmission)
  • Monitor network nodes for Alarms and other abnormal status
  • Carry out preventive measures on detected alarms
  • Trouble ticketing, fault analysis and statistics generation from faults reports.
  • Track and Monitor the resolution of Faults
  • Customer complaints handling, escalation and follow up to ensure the compliants are resolved
  • Carry out Health Checks on network Nodes daily and weekly
  • Analyze and perform first level restoration on faults or any degraded service detected
  • Escalate faults that require 2nd line support and Vendor intervention
  • Escalation of major outages and faults to management
  • Handover all outstanding outages, pending escalated alarms and network complaints to next shift
  • Carry out impact analysis on planned activities
  • Control and coordinate vendor and other Network Business Units teams activities
  • Coordinate Refueling and site Facilities maintenance activities
  • Carry out Health Checks on all BSS,Transmission,NSS and other network Nodes
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures by vendors, IT and other Network support teams
  • Generate and submit daily and weekly reports pertaining to system availability and performance timely
  • Prepare and send outage, updates, restorations and new service accurately and timely to Servicedesk
  • Support / Guide field technician / Engineer for corrective maintenance
  • Support and reporting of field preventive maintanance
  • Update system information as required
  • Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

    Works on special projects and assignments as requested by Network Operations Team Leader

    Essential Knowledge :

  • Network Systems Operation and Maintenance Procedures
  • NOC Processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge in Radio, Core and Transport Networks
  • Knowledge of network performance / configuration parameters, interpretation and use
  • Good knowledge of network implementation / integration processes
  • Knowledge of the network topology, its traffic handling capabilities and traffic characteristics
  • IN Platform knowledge
  • 3G / 4G / LTE systems knowledge
  • Working knowledge of IP environment.

  • Bachelors degree in Telecommunications or equivalent Engineering with at least 3 years experience in GSM Industry
